Product Description

Slime Tire Sealant is formulated and tested for use in all pneumatic tires. Once installed, Slime remains liquid and will not harden or dry out. Slime is guaranteed for 2 years. As the Slime treated tire rotates, centrifugal force pushes the sealant to the tread area creating a layer of protection, repairing punctures as they occur and treating existing punctures. Slime is not intended for use in tires losing pressure from sidewall punctures, bead leaks, damaged rims or faulty valves. Slime is recommended as a repair only in high speed, over-the-road tires.

Passed the test

I finally tested this on a ~.25" mesquite hole. Used the whole bottle and it worked. I had to jack the tire off the ground to rotate it and to give the near useless mini compressor a chance to fill the tire without having bead sealing problems. Rear tire, no vibration problems. I still replaced the tire after getting back to civilization cause the hole was a little onto the sidewall. The tire shop guys were warned and they didn't complain about the slime in the tire.

Only used it on a small tractor tire

I have only used this to seal a puncture on a small lawn tractor tire, but it worked quite well. I also have a bottle in my car (Mini Cooper with no spare) but have never had to use it and hope I don't.

Causes Steering Wheel Shudder

I purchased slime with the intention of correcting a very slow leak in my left front tire. I have a '92 4WD Toyota pickup with 32" X 10.5" BF Goodrich Mud Terrain T/A tires. I used the recommended 20 oz amount. The front end was aligned on 4/28/10 and operation was smooth until the first application of slime in the slow leak tire. It causes the steering wheel to shudder rapidly, spanning an inch and half clockwise/counter-clockwise. I can feel this being transmitted from the imbalance created in the tire.Yes, I did drive the truck immediately after installing the slime. In fact, I had read about it extensively on the net before purchasing the product and bought two bottles because someone, amidst a plurality of satisfactory reviews, had noted a similar imbalance by using the product; my intention being to fill the other front tire to balance the front end, should that reviewer prove to be right. This made the shudder in the steering wheel perceptibly worse. I have contacted the company for a refund and hopefully pay to get the slime out of my tires and the wheels rebalanced.It is really bad.
